FAIRMONT, MINN. — Cloud Engineering Manager Sam Viesselman has been named Kahler Automation’s 2024 Bison Award winner, selected by his fellow employees at Kahler and announced May 15, 2025.

The Bison Award is Kahler Automation’s annual recognition of an individual who has exhibited great team spirit and the ability to tackle difficult challenges head-on — while sharing the company’s dedication to customer service and innovation — over the course of the previous year.

"I feel so honored that my coworkers recognized my efforts here at Kahler Automation,” said Viesselman. “I'm proud of everything we've accomplished and can't wait to see what we do next."

Kahler Automation Software Engineering Manager Logan Kahler says Viesselman exemplifies the meaning behind the Bison Award.

“Sam consistently uses his curious attitude to gain a deeper understanding of what customers are trying to accomplish. He ensures their needs are addressed when asking for new functionality,” said Kahler. “When performance issues are discovered, Sam seeks to improve the code first before resorting to increasing the resources available to the applications, avoiding additional costs. He does a great job of keeping up with and quickly working through the challenges of software development, resulting in products that distinguish Kahler Automation from our competition.”
